TOP 10 TFL MEN NAMED
FOOTBALL: An exciting Toowoomba Football Leagues Premiers Men’s season has finally come to a close.
In their second year back in the top flight, St Albans were virtually unstoppable, claiming the President’s Cup, minor premiership and premiership.
More than 300 goals were scored in the regular season, with five players across the competition scoring 20 or more goals.
Here’s our look at the Top 10 players of the 2021 TFL Premier Men’s competition.
10. SCOTT FORKNALL – HIGHFIELDS
His team finished bottom of the ladder but the 17-year-old was a shining light in what was a tough season.
The young centre back held his own against bigger and stronger attackers.
Forknall also proved to be a great leader – helping to lift the games of those around with his commitment and work rate.
9. HUNTER MURPHY – STANTHORPE
After starting the year with the South West Queensland Thunder, Murphy made the request to return home with a demanding travel schedule taking its toll on his game.
His return added an immediate edge to the Stanthorpe midfield.
Despite playing just nine games for Stanthorpe, Murphy showed enough to warrant TFL All Star selection.
Stanthorpe missed out on the finals by a game this year but without Murphy they would’ve been much closer to the bottom.
8. BRENDAN WILLMOT – ROCKVILLE
The TFL veteran is not the type of player who regularly shows up on the stat sheets.
Willmot, however provided the perfect foil to Rockville’s more attack minded midfielders.
A vocal leader who constantly organises his team’s defensive structure and breaks up attacking raids, he is the workhorse every team values.
7. MAT EILERS – WILLOWBURN

His efforts in the grand final were decisive in St Albans’ win.
5. TOM FOWLER – WEST WANDERERS
Fowler came into his own midway through the season.
Off the back of excellent team work, Wanderers dominated the first round of the season, but when injury struck, Fowler stood up.
With defenders and forwards pushed into unfamiliar positions, Fowler, who was his side’s only recognised midfielder, was the glue that held his side together.
His workrate in the middle of the park kept his side in the finals hunt.
4. MAYSAR QASO – ROCKVILLE
Quick and fit, Qasar troubled opposition defences all year.
His rise through the Rockville ranks has been meteoric and in his first full season of Premier football he was impressive.
