QUEENSLAND­ERS have been grabbing great deals on offer as part of a new Tourism and Events Queensland campaign.

Tickets to sleep on a pontoon on the Great Barrier Reef for $5, swim with a crocodile for $1 in a state-first experience and climb Brisbane’s Story Bridge at twilight, also for $1, have sold out within minutes of going live this week at queensland.com/ holidays like this.

The 20 Days of Holidays Like This campaign is being run by TEQ in partnershi­p with News Corp’s Queensland mastheads.

A new hot offer from the Gold Coast – 100 double adult general admission tickets for $1 each at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary – will go on sale at 9am on Thursday.

Visitors can immerse themselves into the wonder and natural beauty of 27ha of Currumbin rainforest, wandering through open animal enclosures, feeding kangaroos and cuddling koalas along the way.

Head of sales and marketing Scott Kirk said the sanctuary was an iconic Gold Coast experience that had something for everyone and was enjoyed by people of all ages.

“Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s renowned lorikeet feeding experience brings generation­s of family and friends together,” he said.

“Guests can journey back in time to a forgotten world in our Lost Valley precinct and for the more adventurou­s, upgrade your ticket to include sky high thrills at Tree Top Challenge with 80 challenges and 11 ziplines including the epic Croc Shock.

Similar deals from operators will be available this month.
