Saints sets sights on return to form
IT’S SAFE to say defending premiers Saints did not start the FQPL 3 men’s season the way they hoped.
Saints lit up the competition in 2021 but didn’t have that same attacking spark at the start of this season.
Things however are looking up for the Middle Ridge Park side.
They sit just outside the top four and a win this weekend could see them back in finals contention.
They take on Wanderers who are coming off back-toback losses.
Similarly, Highfields are also a chance to make the top four if they can beat Gatton on Saturday night at home.
Gatton will be looking to break back into the winner’s circle after two recent draws and will be keen to not lose pace with the competition front runners.
Rockville host Willowburn on Sunday afternoon, and a win could see them slip into second place.
A win would also go a long way toward booking a Presidents Cup spot next month.
FQPL 3 WOMEN
South Toowoomba Hawks (third) host USQFC on Saturday night, with only one point separating them on the ladder.
Highfields will be ‘divided’ when their Green and Gold squads clash this weekend.
With Gold now sitting in first spot, they will be cautious not to be complacent and underestimate their clubmates.
Rovers continue to climb the ladder, and they will be confident they can get the job done against West Wanderers on Saturday night.
Wanderers are still on the hunt for their second win of the season and will need to be at their best to take down Rovers.
Losing the top spot on the ladder will no doubt add some motivation to defending premiers Willowburn this weekend, as they take on Rockville Rubies.
Rubies are coming off a heavy defeat and will want a better account of themselves in this match.
