Congratula­tions to the DDBA/DDLBA Mixed Pairs Winners and Runners-up played last weekend. In a very close game with an extra end to decide the winners, the eventual winners were Gary Petersen and Marlene Hannant (West Toowoomba) with the runners-up being Kaylene Weir and son Haydn Weir (North Toowoomba).

The Champion of Club Champion Pairs results being played at Drayton on 16-17 July will be in next week’s notes. Good bowling to the Champion of Club Champion Fours teams to be played on the weekend of the 23-24 July at Toowoomba Club:

NOTICE OF Meeting: The Annual General Meeting of the Ladies Section of the Club will be held on Tuesday 26th July at 10am followed by a light lunch. Nomination­s are called forPreside­nt, Secretary and Games Director and those nomination­s together with any Notices of Motion are to be with the Secretary no later than Friday 22nd July.

Bowls will be back to normal this Thursday. I have a new draw game for us to play.

Committee meeting after bowls will also be held.

We need as many ladies as possible on Friday morning to make sandwiches for 2.30 that afternoon.

Also we need ladies on Saturday to make pennant sandwiches.

Some ladies represente­d the club at Drayton last Thursday and came away with the Booie prize. Well at least we got something as many others got nothing. Also our Club O Club Pairs did as well as possible on Saturday on a green which was not up to scratch.

Good luck to our fours team in the playoffs this weekend at Toowoomba club.

Don’t forget there are not many cards left in the jag the joker at the club, you have to be there to win it.
