Netball
This is the most crucial game of the Diamonds’ entire campaign – their final group stage clash against Jamaica. This match will decide if Australia tops the group to face either England or New Zealand in the semifinals. Can Australia’s Gretel Bueta star up front? Can the Diamonds defence stop Jamaican superstar Jhaniele Fowler?
Hockey
Pakistan was rated a tournament dark horse before the competition began but the Kookaburras have been in sublime touch. Another big win here for Australia will set them up nicely for the semi-finals as they chase a record seventh Games gold in the men’s event.
Diving
Former Chinese world champ Shixin Li headlines Australia’s diving team as competition begins today with the men’s 1m springboard and women’s 10m platform. Li moved to Australia in 2017 to be a diving coach but was convinced to make a comeback that could add more gold.
Para powerlifting
Ben Wright will hope it’s third time lucky as he looks to claim his first Games medal in the powerlifting. Hani Watson looms as a gold medal threat in her Games debut. Nigeria has won all 12 gold medals on offer since Para powerlifting began in 2002.
Athletics
It doesn’t get much bigger than this for our athletes. Ash Moloney might be missing from the decathlon but we have several gold medal prospects, including the women’s high jump, men’s discus, men’s 1500m and wheelchair star Madi de Rozario chasing her second gold.
Table tennis
Six Australian players continue in the men’s and women’s singles action, including Qian Yang, Daniela di Toro, Lina Lei, Amanda-Jane Tscharke, Lin Ma and Jinjian Chen. Meanwhile, the doubles heats up with men’s, women’s and mixed round of 64.
Rhythmic gymnastics
Back on the Commonwealth Games schedule after being left out in 2018, the rhythmic gymnasts will look to put a controversial few years behind them. Olympic team selection caused issues before Tokyo, but now it’s all about the medals with the team event up first.
Cycling
Alexandra Manly headlines Australia’s road cycling team after taking part in the inaugural women’s Tour de France. She won gold with the women’s 4000m team pursuit at the Gold Coast Games in 2018. Today, it’s the men’s and women’s individual road time trial.
Beach volleyball
Australia’s Olympic silver medal duo of Taliqua Clancy and Mariafe Artacho del Solar will need to secure one last victory over Cyprus today to ensure they finish top of Pool B. Up next, it’s the quarter-finals and from there every game is must-win if the Aussies want the gold.
Lawn bowls
The Australian men fell agonisingly short of a memorable gold medal comeback in the triples. Now it’s up to our women get revenge when their triples enters the quarter-final stage. The Para mixed pairs semi-finals are also today as the lawn bowls action enters a crucial stage.
