Top prices in top suburbs
AS AGENTS and property experts will tell you, Toowoomba’s real estate market is going crazy right now.
And it’s not hard to see why based on the top-selling homes from every suburb across the city in 2022.
The statistics, collated by The Chronicle based on RP Data and RealEstate.com.au, reveal most communities’ top-selling house was above $1 million.
Sales of unit complexes and large land parcels snapped up by developers have been omitted, with the focus on owner-occupiers where possible. Earlier this week, we ran the first and second group of suburbs. Here is part three.
REDWOOD – 2 Old Toll Bar Rd

This 1970s-era luxury home on the edge of the Toowoomba escarpment was snapped up in March for an incredible $3.3m.
Considered a “blue-chip” suburb of Toowoomba, Redwood is tightly-held and saw just three property sales in 2022.

South Toowoomba has earned significant interest from buyers, with its median price soaring 25 per cent to $475,000 in just a year.

Set on more than 1.3 hectares at Top Camp, this home sold for a monster sum in an apparent off-market transaction in June.
Top Camp’s median house price has grown by 33 per cent to $765,000 since 12 months ago.
TORRINGTON – 20 Troys Rd

Known more as Toowoomba’s industrial heart, Torrington has developed a growing residential market of late.
The average house price is now $695,000, up 25 per cent from a year ago.
WELLCAMP – 319 Drayton-Wellcamp Rd

Historically considered a working-class suburb, Wilsonton’s market has exploded in the past year.
The average house price is now $406,000, up 21 per cent in 12 months.
WILSONTON HEIGHTS – 20 High Court Dr

Built by local firm GJ Gardner Homes, this four-bedroom house on the outskirts of Wilsonton Heights attracted interest above $600,000.
“This outstanding home was built to raise funds for local children’s charities and no expense was spared,” agent Trevor Manteufel wrote in the listing.
While still one of Toowoomba’s most affordable suburbs, Wilsonton Height’s median house price has risen by 19 per cent to $375,000 in a year.
