1. Railway museum

HOP aboard the historic railmotors at the DownsSteam Tourist Railway and Museum on Saturday.

Food will be available on the day including scones with jam and cream, toasted sandwiches and sausages, as well as coffee, tea and soft drinks.

Several locomotive­s will be open for inspection on Saturday, between 9am and 3pm, including The Commission­er, Drayton Dart and Robey.

Entry is a $5 donation. DownsSteam is at 16 Cambooya St, Drayton.

2. Watercolou­r exhibition

See the beauty of works by Toowoomba prize-winning artist and tutor Bruce Griffiths when he holds his 16th soloist exhibition Watercolou­r Visions this weekend.

The exhibition will be held at the Toowoomba Art Society at 1 Godsall St and will feature a selection of 27 fine art pieces.

Watercolou­r Visions will be open from November 1 to 27, from 10am to 2pm every weekend and from 9am to noon from Tuesdays to Fridays.

3. Cent sale

Find a special gift for your loved ones at the QCWA’s cake and craft stall when the Toowoomba branch holds its Christmas Cent Sale on Saturday.

More than 100 prizes will be up for grabs on the day.

Doors will open at 263 Margaret St, from 9am for a 10am start.

Entry is $10 per person and includes morning tea.

4. Dolly’s Dream fundraiser

Help make a difference this weekend when Austral Ag and Northern Stock Water host a barbecue fundraiser for Dolly’s Dream.

Committed to changing the culture of bullying by providing education and support to young people and their families, Dolly’s Dream is a charity founded by Kate and Tick Everett.

The parents started the initiative when their 14-yearold daughter Dolly tragically took her own life as a result of ongoing bullying.

Starting at 9am on Saturday, the fundraisin­g event will be held at Austral Ag at 105 McDougall St, Wilsonton.

5. Berry festival

Sample the goods grown in the Granite Belt when the Stanthorpe Berry Festival returns to the region for the second time this weekend.

The festival will showcase the vineyards and brewers at a sip sesh, as well as the fresh strawberri­es, raspberrie­s and blueberrie­s grown in our region’s own backyard.

Patrons are encouraged to enter their product into the Best Amateur Jam Competitio­n, watch the live cooking masterclas­s with celebrity chef Alastair McLeod and have a go at the variety of eating trials including the hot wings challenge.

Vendors on the day will include the Brazzo Boys, J’s Dogs, The Tiny Diner, Mild Chilli and Jamworks.

The Stanthorpe Berry Festival is on Saturday, November 19, from 10am to 5pm.

It will be held at Weeroona Park on Marsh St.

6. Group meditation

Relax and take part in the practice of meditation to achieve inner peace, mindfulnes­s and a healthy emotional wellbeing.

Hosted by Heartfulne­ss Toowoomba, the group meditation session will be held on the third floor of the Toowoomba City Library on Herries and Victoria Sts. Starting from 10am on Sunday, the meditation session is free.

7. Plant walk and talk

Explore the flora and fauna of Peacehaven Park in Highfields this weekend with a free walk and talk about bushfood and biodiversi­ty.

Hosted by Flora 4 Fauna and Kemp Killerby, the twohour event will involve looking at native, edible, pollinator attractor and utility plants which have been planted throughout the gardens.

Following the walk, patrons will be able to purchase plants from the organisers, with the selection ranging from $5 to $10.

Attendees will gather at the botanical gardens on Kuhls Rd on Sunday at 9am.

8. Drag brunch

Enjoy a brunch with a show when talented drag queens take to the stage of the Cube Hotel on Sunday from noon.

Hosted by Justine Deeva, other performers on the day will include Miss Veeta, Ivyy Monroe, Dylicious Sweetz, Dame Liz Taylor and Gina Vanderpump.

The brunch includes a compliment­ary mimosa on arrival.

Tickets are $29 per person and can be booked online at stickytick­ets.com.au

9. Awards night

Cheer on the volunteers and team members of UniSQ Toowoomba’s Dungeons and Dragons Club when it hosts its first awards night on Saturday. Following the awards ceremony, there will be a themed raffle, board game tournament­s and food and drink.

Starting from 5pm, the event will be held at the university’s Steele Rudd College at 100 Baker St, Darling Heights.

Entry is $5.

10. Men’s Day Festival

Celebrate Internatio­nal Men’s Day on Saturday when CardiGras hosts a festival dedicated to the annual day.

Featuring a car show, live entertainm­ent, markets and a men’s health informatio­n booth, the event will be held at the Cahill Park Sports Complex in Gatton.

Running from noon to 9pm, the event will be held on Saturday.

Tickets are $10 per adult or $5 for concession card holder.
