FLOODS. If climate change is the cause why hadn’t something been done over the past 100 years? History has been documented of floods 100 plus years ago in Eastern Australia with similar floodwater heights and above.

I have been interested in reading newspapers and watching many TV programs recently about youth detention and youth crime across Australia. Very young kids are reoffending, many still on parole from recent crimes. The law courts must get tough on these thugs, and help the hardworking police keep our communities safe. Federal and state governments have to take some responsibility for the atrocious crime rate. Jay, Toowoomba

Professor so and so? It seems that universities are inventing professorial positions to add to their status. For example, why do we have a Professor of nursing (CQU), Professor of multimedia specialising in Facebook (MMU), or a Professor in politics and public policy of which the person is yet to complete a doctorate (UWA). Or are the appointments made to make students think that these Professors add to their knowledge?
