THE Focus HR Business Excellence Awards 2022 proudly presented by the Toowoomba Chamber stop and reflect on the outstanding achievement of the Toowoomba business community.

Significantly, each year, a business is added to the Toowoomba Chamber Hall of Fame.

This recognition started in 2004 with four recipients, and in the past 18 years there have been several longstanding businesses recognised that have contributed significantly to the business community over the years.

The stellar line up of past winners include Toowoomba Foundry, USQ, Heritage Bank, Clive Berghofer, The Chronicle, Orford Refrigeration, Hannas, Burstows, Darling Downs Bricks, Russell Mineral Equipment, Wagners, Empire Theatre, FK Gardener, Betros Bros, Weis, Taylors Removal and Storage, Cracker Print, Hutchinson Builders, Stahman Webster, St Vincent’s Hospital, Tilly’s Crawler Parts, and Rowes.

In 2022, the Hall of Fame inductee was Hogan’s Family Jewellers, a member of the Toowoomba business community for 77 years.

At the gala awards night, we heard about their contribution to Toowoomba and the business community.

In the words of President Kate Venables: “This year, I have the pleasure to induct a business into the Hall of Fame which has been a stalwart in Toowoomba, and which has existed for over 75 years.

“A business that remains located in the heart of our city.

“And generation after generation they have fought for a better deal for the CBD and CBD business.

“They have a long and distinguished track record of supporting everyone from local schools and sporting clubs, to donating to some of the city’s most iconic fundraising events to help others. What they give back to the community is outstanding.

“They are Toowoomba ambassadors exporting their goods and services to all corners of the globe. Trading since the early 1950s. This is a third-generation business.

“They are quality. They are artists. They are industrial designers. They are exporters. They are industry. Yes, they are the longest established specialist in Toowoomba in their field.

“A creative business which brings joy to individuals, businesses, and groups of people. They breathe new life into your family heirlooms. “Today, they continue to innovate. “Taking their business to the next level with a new multimillion-dollar expansion to enhance the customer and visitor experience.

“The 2022 Toowoomba Chamber Hall of Fame Inductee is, for those who prefer quality, Hogans Family Jewellers,” she said.

There is no question about commitment and contribution of Hogan’s Family Jewellers across generations. Commitment and involvement in supporting our community. And dedication to a better deal for businesses. A worthy inductee of the Hall of Fame. Congratulations, Hogans Family Jewellers.
