A TOOWOOMBA businessman got the shock of his life after he went through his CCTV footage to find out why a man’s T-shirt had been left in his trailer on Tuesday night.

Police prosecutor Alister Windsor said the footage showed Christopher Neale Roberts walk into a car park on Olcott Lane at 2.35am on Wednesday, March 15.

Sergeant Windsor told Toowoomba Magistrates Court that Robert stripped off and began masturbating while he lowered himself onto various parts of the trailer, including a metal pole on the corner, and the jockey wheel.

The former jockey was released from prison for committing a very similar crime just 24 hours before he committed the bizarre solo sex act.

In 2022, Mr Windsor said hospital staff arriving for a morning shift found a naked Roberts in the car park lying on his back with his legs in the air while he penetrated himself and masturbated.

During a spate of illegal and public sexcapades caught on CCTV, Roberts used a number of sticks, large and small, to pleasure himself near the Gold Park Sporting Grounds and in people’s backyards.

At court on Thursday, March 16, Roberts pleaded guilty to committing an indecent act in a place that the public had access to.

Solicitor Ryan McCullough said the qualified concreter had no excuse or explanation for his “concerning and perplexing” behaviour, and that Roberts said he did not have a mental health issue.

Magistrate Louise Shepard said Roberts clearly had a mental health issue and questioned why he was routinely sent to prison for his actions when it was not deterring him or changing his behaviour.

After spending a night in the watch house, Roberts was placed on an 18-month probation order in hopes that supervision and mental health support would help get his behaviour in check.
