Step forward Nuclear power Real enemy TEXT THE EDITOR

-

It was reported recently that US President Joe Biden would consider dropping all charges relating to Julian Assange.

That’s what I call diplomacy, or in other words a compromise. He would do this if Australia forgets their inquiry into the bombing of the aid worker’s convoy.

I don’t know for sure but isn’t that how these things work? Why would Joe Biden all of a sudden bring up an issue?

If he does drop the charges without any strings attached it would be miracle for Julian’s family.

I am quite adamant that I will not be voting for any government in Australia that wants to introduce nuclear power.

Let me explain why.

I have a deep-seated fear that the LNP has an agenda for Australia to ultimately acquire nuclear weapons.

Peter Dutton, once Australia’s defence minister in his deep seated fear of China, would in my opinion be instrumental in Australia developing nuclear weapons of its own.

So why is this a bad thing? Once again, let me explain.

If I point a gun at your head, and you point a gun at my head, does that make you feel safe and comfortable?

Of course it doesn’t, and with the horrifying destructive nature of nuclear weapons, only much more so.

Any effort by Australia to acquire a nuclear arsenal will only lead to a nuclear arms race spreading to the southern hemisphere.

This further encourages nuclear proliferation and the likelihood that a terrorist organisation will threaten Australia for a ransom demand.

It’s called nuclear blackmail, and every nuclear power in the world is guilty of it.

Lest we forget, Hamas is the creator and the cause of the situation that is now engulfing the Middle East. Nobody else.

Hamas is the reason that people are being killed and maimed in Gaza and in Israel. No one else.

When will the UN and the democratic world demand Hamas surrender? If they’re concerned about surrendering to IDF (and I can understand that) then the UN should demand Hamas surrenders to UN forces.

Because no matter what, Hamas is not going to win this war.

The rest of Hamas’ “fighters” will be martyred and three or four times that number of innocents will die before it ends.

If Australia Post is going to cut letters back to every second day to focus on parcels, why do parcels get to Toowoomba then sit here for two or three days before being delivered? Not good enough.

Forget about profit and focus on providing some service for a change. CM, M’Ridge

Barron Trump seems like a nice and interesting young man to me. If he does nothing wrong he might make a good future President. Dave, Twmba

I hate hearing men swear on TV or anywhere, but hearing women (mostly young women) use foul language, really turns my stomach.

Why is it needed? I once heard that people who swear can’t use the English correctly.

The Lehrmann defamation case. Was the judge named Lee or Solomon?

He’d need the second name to have waded through all that.

Why was Brittany Higgins given so much taxpayer money from the government within just a few weeks of said rape?

Hundreds of women are raped every year, yet don't get any government compensation.

If I wanted to kill someone, it would be easier with a gun than stabbing at close range.

Why has the national media added to the suffering of local family over tragic event in Sydney? Did they do that to the family of the Sydney policeman? D, Tmba

Re the Bondi killings.

It’s time for the killer’s name and image as well as the comments of those who think they knew him to cease being published.

Just repeat what the police advise the condition of those who were wounded.
