Food­ies pre­pare for feast at Fel­ton fes­ti­val

FARM­ERS and food lovers are pre­par­ing to unite for the Fel­ton Food Fes­ti­val.

Ev­ery year the fes­ti­val, which will be held on Sun­day, show­cases what the re­gion has to of­fer along with vis­its from celebrity chefs with demon­stra­tions and tast­ings.

Spe­cial guests at the fes­ti­val will in­clude chef Alas­tair McLeod from Chan­nel Seven’s Queens­land Week­ender, Gar­den­ing Aus­tralia’s Costa Ge­or­giadis, Queens­land Food Cham­pion Ali­son Alexan­der, one of Queens­land’s lead­ing pas­try chefs Caroline Jones and Ge­orge the Farmer.

Event or­gan­is­ers have com­bined demon­stra­tions, com­pe­ti­tions and en­ter­tain­ment to make sure vis­i­tors can con­nect the pad­dock to their plate.

There will be plenty of lo­cal pro­duce mar­ket stalls as well as the Fel­ton bar­be­cue and bar, a chil­dren’s mar­quee, grains dis­play, ques­tion and an­swer tent and the 2017 Na­tional Sausage King Com­pe­ti­tion re­gional win­ners an­nounce­ment.

Other ac­tiv­i­ties will also in­clude talks about cli­mate, pre­ci­sion agri­cul­ture, mak­ing sour­dough, the art of sal­ads and fer­ment­ing foods.

En­ter­tain­ment will also hit the main stage and will in­clude Bren­don Walm­s­ley, Rum­bat­uba, Topp Gear, Dana Has­sall and Good For­tunes.

This year’s fes­ti­val will also in­clude a sec­ond day of ac­tiv­i­ties, with Fel­ton farm tours and the in­au­gu­ral twi­light din­ner held on Satur­day.
