FARMERS and food lovers are preparing to unite for the Felton Food Festival.

Every year the festival, which will be held on Sunday, showcases what the region has to offer along with visits from celebrity chefs with demonstrations and tastings.

Special guests at the festival will include chef Alastair McLeod from Channel Seven’s Queensland Weekender, Gardening Australia’s Costa Georgiadis, Queensland Food Champion Alison Alexander, one of Queensland’s leading pastry chefs Caroline Jones and George the Farmer.

Event organisers have combined demonstrations, competitions and entertainment to make sure visitors can connect the paddock to their plate.

There will be plenty of local produce market stalls as well as the Felton barbecue and bar, a children’s marquee, grains display, question and answer tent and the 2017 National Sausage King Competition regional winners announcement.

Other activities will also include talks about climate, precision agriculture, making sourdough, the art of salads and fermenting foods.

Entertainment will also hit the main stage and will include Brendon Walmsley, Rumbatuba, Topp Gear, Dana Hassall and Good Fortunes.

This year’s festival will also include a second day of activities, with Felton farm tours and the inaugural twilight dinner held on Saturday.
