Helping families work through difficult times
SARAH Adams, who moved to the Garden City in 2009, is an associate at Murdoch Lawyers’ Toowoomba family law team and loves the rewarding aspect of her job.
“I really enjoy supporting people to navigate a really tough time in their lives and coming up with practical and workable arrangements both for children and property,” Sarah said.
“The best part is being able to work with a variety of different people to move through a really tough period in their life.
“I like working together to put in place arrangements that work for them and their kids and/or their financial situation.”
Sarah initially studied law because she was unsure what direction to take career-wise and thought it would always enable her to find work.
It was after working as a mediator at a family relationship centre during her study that she realised she loved the profession and the family side of law.
She has continued her career path in family law.
With a husband and two small children, Sarah is no stranger to the challenges of parenthood.
She encouraged anybody looking for support and assistance to navigate through life after separation to get in contact.
“I can assist with divorces, children’s arrangements or financial matters,” Sarah said.
“Another really interesting part of my job is drafting financial agreements that can put in place arrangements just in case of separation, like the Australian version of a pre-nuptial agreement.”
Most days of the week Sarah can be found working up a sweat at Toowoomba CrossFit and has just started navigating some of the great trails through Jubilee Park and Redwood.
“We really enjoy being outside and Toowoomba has lots of great parks and activities,” Sarah said.
