Body found

THE body of a spearfisher missing off the coast south of Cairns has been located.

Warren Hughes, 35, disappeared while spearfishing in waters between Palmer Point and High Island, north of Innisfail, on Saturday. Police confirmed his body was located yesterday morning not far off shore and said Mr Hughes’s family had been advised.

It is understood he may have been attacked by a large, aggressive crocodile that also attacked a police boat on Sunday night. Authority has been given to destroy the 4.5m crocodile.
