Williams okay

-

Craig Williams will be out of racing for a week after his heavy fall in the Mornington Cup on Saturday. Tests showed that Williams escaped serious injury after his mount, English stayer The Gold Trail, broke two sesamoid bones in his near front leg, flinging the jockey to the ground 100m after the finish. The Gold Trail finished fourth and was put down. Williams lost consciousness briefly. He was released from Frankston Hospital yesterday. His brother Jason said there had been no structural damage, “but he’ll have to have the mandatory one-week off and he still has a mild concussion”.
