Crash wrap for region

EMERGENCY services were kept busy with a spate of traffic crashes around the region yesterday.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called to six traffic crashes in five hours, beginning with a two-car smash at the corner of Ruthven and Stenner Sts about 7.55am.

Across town in Glenvale, crews secured the scene of a two-car crash at a busy intersecti­on on Greenwattl­e St about 8.05am.

A water tanker which rolled off the Mitchell-St George Rd about 60km from St George at 8.15am required a crane to remove the heavy vehicle.

QFES crews isolated an oil spill which had leaked from the overturned truck into a water course.

A motorcycli­st was struck by a reversing car on James St in Harristown about 9.22am, with paramedics assessing the rider at the scene.

A pedestrian struck by a vehicle at the corner of Mann and Herries St in Toowoomba City about 9.40am was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

QFES crews were later called to a two-vehicle crash at the corner of Carey and Ruthven Sts in Kearneys Spring about 1.05pm.

An elderly driver was assessed by paramedics at the scene.
