Rock opens up about childhood

-

HE’S the highest-paid actor in Hollywood, raking in a whopping $86 million last year, but Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has opened up about his difficult childhood.

The movie star said growing up poor continued to shape his view of the world.

Making films and television shows that bring people joy is his main priority, Johnson told the New York Post.

And he’s aware that for many people around the world, the cost of a cinema ticket can be hard to stump up.

“I know what it’s like to earn a dollar. I know what it’s like to live pay cheque to pay cheque and wonder how you’re going to pay the rent,” Johnson told the newspaper.

“Money doesn’t fall out of the sky. So if you’re going to pay for your ticket, that inspires me to want to make a great movie.”
