Ballet company tells other side of Snow White

-

THE ballet version of Snow White is a very different one to the Disney movie and that might surprise some people.

West Moreton Youth Ballet performed that version of the story during their recent performance at the Empire Theatre.

Director Mia Huston said it was a spectacular show.

“It was wonderful to see the audience laughing and cheering along to the ballet,” she said.

“The turn out was great, we have more than 800 (people) in the audience so it was wonderful to see the support from the community and that ballet is still relevant in this age of technology.”

Ms Huston said 65 dancers travelled from all around Queensland to be a part of the show, including Nanango, Kingaroy and Brisbane.

“They travelled to Toowoomba every other Sunday for the past three months to rehearse,” she said.

The stars of the show were Baylee Thrupp, 13, as Snow White and Ryley Grgic, 15, as the Prince.
