Performers ‘all in this together’

-

THE Glennie School students “got their head in the game” for their 2017 production of Disney’s much-loved High School Musical.

Director Andrea Elsm said it was a wonderful experience watching the show come together and watching the students become polished performers.

“With the assistance of some local school boys, it has been an exciting process,” she said.

After a challenging round of auditions, the leads were chosen - Pippy Donaldson and Lauren Baryla were chosen to play Gabriella Montez, Sean Johnston played Troy Bolton, Isabel Bracey and Nicholas Roy played Sharpay and Ryan Evans, Watson Blaikie played Chad Danforth and Isabel Lanigan and Emily Hall played Science Club president Taylor McKessie.

The cast performed all the favourite songs including Get’cha Head in the Game, Stick to the Status Quo and Laura (left) and Ellie de Jong can’t wait for the show.

But it wasn’t just the cast who achieved something great - the sets were created by parent and student volunteers and transported ticket holders to East High, the home of the Wildcats.

The shows, performed from April 21 to 23, were all sold out. TOP SHOW: Enjoying the night are (from left) Marie Heald, Christine Barton, Ava Rowe and Dan Rowe.
