Rolfe one goal off top with seven this season

- Anton Rose anton.rose@thechronicle.com.au

FOOTBALL: Louise Rolfe is showing no signs of struggling to adapt to the women’s National Premier Leagues Queensland.

The former Warwick star joined the Thunder after scoring 47 goals in the Toowoomba football competition last season, putting her up there with the elite as one of the country’s top 40 goalscorers.

The jump in quality to the NPLQ has not phased her, with her seven goals this season coming from four games adding to the sense of deja vu from within the football community.

Her performances this season have her just one goal off top spot on the scorer’s ladder.

However Thunder have not over-relied on the versatile Rolfe’s goals.

Melanie Lloyd scored four,

an average of a goal a game, with Rosanna Berry and Sarah Sheridan both chipping in with two goals so far this campaign.

A second-placed Souths United are the Thunder’s opponents today, the team that finished in that same position last year thanks to 5-0 and 8-3 wins over the Thunder last season.

The Thunder men have a chance at a first win of the season against Ipswich rivals Western Pride.
