South-West stars chase Central spots

-

RUGBY LEAGUE: The likes of Samartha Leisha, Molly O’Connell and Emily Young will get to push for higher representative honours when they play for South-West at the women’s 47th Battalion Trophy at Yeppoon.

The trio has already had a taste of representative footy this year having played for the indigenous team in the NRL’s women’s All Stars game in February.

They, along with the rest of the South-West squad, can now put their names into contention for spots in the Central Division team with strong performances at this weekend’s 47th Battalion Trophy.

The South-West team is made up largely by Western Mustangs Fillies players, who should be high on confidence after a strong win in the opening round of the SEQ Women’s B Division last weekend.
