TOOWOOMBA’S new Luxury Food and Wine Tour is designed to highlight the best produce the region has to offer.

Peters Coaches Travel is partnering with Dine Darling Downs to bring residents and visitors a luxurious food and wine experience.

Guests will ride around town in a 16-seat stretch Hummer, first heading to Preston Peak Winery for a cheese and wine platter then to Gips Restaurant for a main course matched with wine and then to Picnic Point for dessert.

Peters Coaches Travel spokeswoman Emily Moon said it was something unique for Toowoomba.

“The foodie culture in Toowoomba is booming and we wanted to do something to utilise that,” she said.

“We have the stretch Hummer at our disposal so thought we could put something cool and different together.

“It is a progressive-style dinner, working with restaurants in town who showcase local produce.

“The chefs come out and talk to guests about their meals and educate them as well.”

The tour launched a few weeks ago and has been well received by the public.

“People are pleasantly surprised by the concept and it is great because it’s a way to boost tourism in Toowoomba,” Ms Moon said.

The tour caters for groups of 12 to 16 people and is available from Tuesday to Friday as well as Sundays.

The cost is $179 per person. Phone Peters Coaches on 1300 602 902.
