Watch your waste in Gundy

Residents are being reminded to ensure they cover loads when transporting waste to avoid littering the area.

Goondiwindi Regional Council Councillor Rob Mackenzie said not only was littering visually ugly but it also had a detrimental effect on the environment.

“Littering from unsecured loads has to be collected by council staff and taken to a waste management facility for disposal,” he said.

“Staff time and resources have had to be directed to perform this task rather than doing work that is more essential.”
