Mums raise more than $350,000 for charity

-

IT STARTED out as a group of mums supporting local charities, but now seven years since its inception, the Red Rose Fund has raised in excess of $350,000 for a number of different causes.

Red Rose Fund president Katrina Eames said she was very proud of what the fund had achieved and was especially thrilled with the success of this year’s ball, which raised more than $55,000 for Rosies - Friends on the Street.

“It was a very fun night, we’ve had lots of positive feedback and everyone enjoyed themselves,” she said.

“The opera singers who provided entertainment on the night were certainly a highlight.”

Mrs Eames said 160 people attended the gala dinner, which was French themed.

Former Queensland governor Leneen Forde was the guest speaker at the event and spoke about her experience with Rosies.
