Trump denies taping Comey
DONALD Trump says he did not make and does not have tapes of his conversations with fired FBI director James Comey. “With all of the recently reported electronic surveillance, intercepts, unmasking and illegal leaking of information, I have no idea ... whether there are ‘tapes’ or recordings of my conversations with James Comey, but I did not make, and do not have, any such recordings,” Mr Trump tweeted. He did not explain why he made the suggestion in the first place. “James Comey better hope that there are no ‘tapes’ of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!” Mr Trump tweeted on May 12, days after firing Mr Comey. House members investigating possible Russian interference in last year’s presidential election had sent the White House a letter asking for any tapes to be submitted by today.
