Cup probe into Team NZ boat
SAILING: Members of the America’s Cup measurement committee have inspected the Team New Zealand boat.
Rumours said Oracle Team USA had issued a claim of non-compliance against the Kiwis’ boat after Team NZ started the cup with four straight wins in Bermuda.
The measurement committee members spent an hour at the Team NZ base on Thursday morning, before returning later in the afternoon when the boat came off the water.
Chief measurer Ken McAlpine said there had not been any official protest, but said race management was “very busy” dealing with last-minute issues.
