Ryanair hits major turbulence

-

CUT-price Irish airline Ryanair will cancel up to 50 flights per day until the end of October to improve its on-time flight record. The cancellations, which begin immediately, are designed to improve its punctuality which has fallen below 80% in the first two weeks of September. If the airline cancels 40 flights per day for six weeks, approximately 285,000 journeys will be affected. The airline is waiving its $59 surcharge normally levied to change flights. The airline blamed air traffic control strikes, weather disruptions and a backlog of crew leave for the decision.
