Silver lining for Aussie Gentle

Commonwealth Games contender Ashleigh Gentle has saved Australian pride and claimed a world championship silver in the finale of the world triathlon series in Rotterdam yesterday.

Gentle was the only Australian – male or female – to even crack the top 10 in the elite world triathlon series in 2017 in an encouraging sign for her chances at next year’s Games on the Gold Coast.

Gentle showed true grit to claim the silver with her sixth-place finish.
