FUNDING NEEDED TO TEACH REMOTELY

Having come from the discipline of medicine, where it’s impossible to cram a whole class of students around a body to observe an operation, Prof Stephen Winn knows about finding innovative ways to teach.

USQ has federal funding to place video conferencing equipment at 13 schools.

Prof Winn believes the next state government should consider a rollout program over four years, saying: “We can’t let geographical distances stop us from providing these communities with learning and teaching support.”
