Residents are invited to the opening of the new look Somerset Regional Council customer service centre and library at Lowood.

The council invested more than $700,000 into the refurbishment which included stripping internal walls and providing residents with a bigger space of about 500sq m.

Celebrations will be held on site inside the new facility on the corner of Michel and Main Streets, Lowood on November 22.

A range of free activities and prizes will be offered between 3pm - 5pm.

Somerset Mayor Graeme Lehmann will officially open the building at 3.15pm before residents receive a guided tour of the new site.

“I encourage everyone to come and have a look at this great new facility that has lots to offer the community,” he said.

“This is a great community asset that enables lots of diverse activities from the large library space.”
