Heat pair prepares for historic clash

-

Delissa Kimmince and Holly Ferling are part of an unchanged squad Brisbane Heat set for a historic WBBL double-header in Mackay.

The in-form Brisbane team will face the Melbourne Stars tonight and tomorrow under lights at Harrup Park, the first time a regular season BBL or WBBL game has been played in regional Queensland.

The Heat are coming off four strong wins over the Hobart Hurricanes and Adelaide Strikers and are currently sitting in fourth position on a congested WBBL ladder, on the same points as the two teams above them.

Men fall short

TOOWOOMBA’S Brendan Doggett was almost a last ball match winner for the Brisbane Heat on Wednesday.

On strike for the final ball Doggett and the Heat needed a four to seal victory against the Hobart Hurricanes.

The young fast bowler’s lofted drive found the man at the mid-on boundary sealing a three run win for the Hurricanes.

Earlier in the innings Warwick’s Mark Steketee combined with Jimmy Peirson for some big htting.

The pair set-up a potential win with the Heat needing 11 of six balls.
