WHEN Flume

-

didn’t come running when Michael Borell went outside for his morning coffee, he knew something was wrong.

“I couldn’t see him in the yard so I started checking down the street, but then I just saw his little tail at the back of the house,” Mr Borell said.

The Alawa pup had been chasing lizards and had poked his head through the hole in a wheel rim.

“He’s got one of those pointy heads where they can shoot through things but then can’t get back out,” Mr Borell said.

“I had to wheel him around to the front yard, with him sort of sidestepping the whole way but we still couldn’t get him out. Eventually we realised we had to call the fire brigade.”

At first, the fireys thought they would have to call a vet to sedate the distraught pup, but in the end a bit of pulling and tugging worked.
