Event raises thousands for service

-

SUNRISE Way has received $15,000 to support the work it does in Toowoomba.

It was raised at a community lunch hosted by Liz Wagner on Friday.

Sunrise Way CEO Wendy Agar said she was always amazed by the support of the Toowoomba community.

“Liz Wagner generously hosted a lunch in her home to raise money for Sunrise Way,” she said.

“It helped to raise vital funds for our service.

“I was overwhelmed when I found out the lunch had raised more than $15,000.

“This means we are well on the way to purchasing a replacement mini bus, which is incredibly significant for us.”

Ms Agar wanted to thank everyone who attended the event and made it a success.

She said Sunrise Way was committed to helping people living with addiction to develop skills to maintain sobriety and return to the community as a contributing member.

“We provide an essential service to the community and are not fully funded, so fundraising activities like this are an important part of our activities,” she said.

“It’s these initiatives that enable us to help people from our region who have been living with addiction to rebuild their lives.”
