Warwick wedding crasher
Buggy mishap a viral sensation
MAT Farmer likes to add a bit of spice to weddings he attends, but a mishap in a buggy at a Warwick celebration has turned into a viral sensation and taken the cake.
A groomsman for Josh and Madeline Tattersall at the weekend, Mr Farmer volunteered to jump in the buggy and create a dusty effect behind the couple during a photo shoot.
“Even before they finished asking I was already starting the buggy up, I was like, we should do a few doughnuts and get some action in the background,” he said.
But during the ride Mr Farmer felt the buggy start to tip over and, having flipped a few buggies before, he knew exactly what to do.
He quickly stepped into the cavity between the seat and the steering wheel just as the vehicle completely fell over.
He managed to escape the tumble without so much as a scratch and it did nothing to deter his spirit.
“I stood out the front and dusted myself off and got back in it,” he said.
Mr Farmer was amazed photographer Renee Mulcahy captured it on camera.
After she posted the picture on Facebook it was shared more than 25,000 times.
“I’m blown away, I almost didn’t share it because I was worried it might be a bad thing, but it’s been 100 per cent positive,” Ms Mulcahy said.
The new Mrs Tattersall said the bridal party thought the moment was hilarious.
“All we wanted was a super memorable wedding and we wanted everyone to have a good time and I think it definitely will be,” she said.
