Am I basically good?

-

AUSTRALIA is a modern, progressive society, well educated, and well fed.

And so I’m asking you, if we’re pre-disposed to do good, why did Australia cheat at cricket?

We know we’re not perfect, “Nobody’s perfect.”

But we believe the little wrongs we do don’t matter. So why did we cheat?

And then, if we’re basically good, why did Jesus die on the cross? Or does Jesus death we’re not good? Because we’re not good, the Bible says:

“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly . ... But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Jesus died on the cross because of we’re not good. People don’t want to hear this message because it’s confronting. Yet, to get help we need to be told there’s problem. Shockingly, the solution to our problem requires the death of Jesus as “the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.”

It was on the cross Jesus paid the debt for our sin in full. That solution is applied to you when you love and trust Jesus as Lord. And that’s good news. May you have a good news day today.
