AQUAMAN and Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa isn’t the only cast member from the hit HBO TV series packing his bags to head to the Gold Coast.

English actress Natalie Dormer, best known for her role as Margaery Tyrell in GoT, will meet and greet fans at the Supanova Pop Culture Expo at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre on April 22-23.

First held in Sydney in 2002, Supanova brings stars of cult film, TV, comic books, gaming and collector toys to town to meet and greet fans, sign autographs, pose for photos and join in seminars and workshops.

Dormer, who starred alongside Jennifer Lawrence in The Hunger Games, is in Australia working on the TV remake of Picnic at Hanging Rock in Victoria, She plays English headmistress Mrs Hester Appleyard in the reimagining of Joan Lindsay’s 1967 novel – the role played by British actress Rachel Roberts in the 1975 film directed by Peter Weir.

She’ll join Pan’s Labyrinth star Ivana Baquerom ( The Shannara Chronicles), Kiwi favourite Manu Bennett ( Arrow, The Hobbit, Spartacus) and Home and Away alumnus Luke Mitchell ( Blindspot, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Tomorrow People) on the Coast for the annual fan convention.

Part of the Gold Coast’s QPOW! Festival – Australia’s answer to America’s world-famous geek mecca – last year’s Supanova drew a capacity crowd of almost 30,000.

Supanova director Daniel Zachariou said the convention centre had blocked out dates for Supanova from now until 2020.

He said next year’s expo would be held on the last weekend in April – making it the first event to bump into the centre after the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

“We were hoping there would be an extension or a mezzanine up at the convention centre in time for the Games but that’s on the backburner now,” he said. “It’s a shame – it would have been great. The reality is we’re at maximum capacity at the convention centre and have been for the last three years.

“We’re nudging to find ways to grow our footprint.

“The ideal for us would be the convention centre expanding a little bit.”

Other stars confirmed include David Boreanaz ( Bones, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Cory Michael Smith ( Gotham), Marie Avgeropoulos ( The 100), Tom Hopper (Black Sails, Merlin) and Jessica Harmon ( iZombie).
