Dealership acclaims value of Sunday trading

-

SURF Toyota has been trading on Sundays since May last year and general manager Adam Hall says positive feedback from their customers has been overwhelming.

Mr Hall said the Tweed Heads South-based business was the only new car dealer open every day of the week from Newcastle to north Queensland and Surf Toyota backed Sunday trading because it provided a much-needed service to timepoor customers.

“The Queensland Government recently announced that car yards in Queensland may be able to open on Sundays after changes to the state’s trading laws; we’ve been open seven days since May last year and have found the feedback from customers has been overwhelmingly positive and in support,” Mr Hall said.

“People don’t have any spare time to go shopping for a car anymore.

“Saturdays are taken up with kids’ sports, mowing the lawns, cleaning the house or catching up with friends.

“Our customers have told us they need more flexibility in regards to when we’re open so we’ve worked out a roster to make this happen.

“We’ve worked hard to obtain a good work/life balance for our valued staff and our team is committed to customer service – that’s something that’s important to them.”

Mr Hall said Sunday trading allowed all decision makers in the family to be present during the car buying process, and extended business hours also gave customers an extra day to browse or buy a car.

“’It’s effectively simplifying the car buying process,” he said.

Meanwhile, Surf Toyota customers have until the end of April to go into the draw to win $10,000 cash. Anyone who buys and takes delivery of a car from the dealership in the months of February, March and April will go into the draw.

“As such, the odds are pretty good and potentially customers have a one in 300 chance to win the $10,000,” Mr Hall said.
