Burleigh Heads Rotary Club joined the global fight to end polio by hosting a stylish black die dinner at the Marriott

- ‘END POLIO’ BALL Surfers Paradise Marriott

THIS may come as a shock to some but in Australia there are 300,000 polio survivors. The disease has been eradicated here thanks to immunisation but around the world the fight continues. With that in mind the Burleigh Heads Rotary Club staged a black tie dinner at the Surfers Paradise Marriott to raise funds to end polio globally. If this global fight is successful and polio is eradicated it will join smallpox as the second human disease mankind has all but eliminated to make our world safer for all children.
