Salim denies robbery and assaults

-

FLASHY former Auburn deputy mayor Salim Mehajer has pleaded not guilty to robbing and assaulting a taxi driver and assaulting a TV journalist earlier this month.

Mehajer, 30, appeared at the Downing Centre Local Court yesterday where his lawyer Mahmoud Abbas entered a plea of not guilty in relation to the four alleged offences.

Police claim Mehajer threw an eftpos terminal machine at the taxi driver’s face and stole his iPhone outside Sydney’s Star Casino in the early hours of April 2. He is also alleged to have destroyed an iPhone belonging to Chiara Lisciotto, a woman who is understood to work at the casino.

Mehajer later got into a white Porsche and Seven journalist Laura Banks was caught between the car door and Porsche.
