Attack claim is just a croc

A CLAIM by a deckhand that he was mauled by a crocodile on Queensland’s Lizard Island has come under question, with authorities saying his injuries are not consistent with an attack by a predator.

The state’s Environment Minister Steven Miles said wildlife officers had been unable to find the reported crocodile and the man’s injuries did not align with an attack.

“That suggests that something else has happened there. I’m not going to get into what that might or might not be,’’ Dr Miles told reporters yesterday.
