Binges bad for heart

BINGE drinking can cause an irregular heartbeat, experts have found.

University Hospital Munich doctors tracked 3000 visitors to Oktoberfest and found those who drank the most were more likely to develop an abnormal heart rhythm.

Cardiac arrhythmia, occurs while people are drinking, and even young, slim, healthy people were at risk.

Though most drinkers did not immediately show symptoms, any alteration of heartbeat can cause severe health problems in later life.
