Franklin finalists

THE authors in contention for Australia’s richest literary award, the Miles Franklin, have been announced. They are: Steven Amsterdam ( The Easy Way Out), Emily Maguire ( An Isolated Incident), Mark O’Flynn ( The Last Days of Ava Langdon), Ryan O’Neill ( Their Brilliant Careers), Josephine Rowe ( A Loving, Faithful Animal), Philip Salom ( Waiting), Inga Simpson ( Where the Trees Were), Kirsten Tranter ( Hold), Josephine Wilson ( Extinctions). The winner is announced in September.
