Striking design and technology combine

AS the 2016 winner of the Drive Car of the Year and CarsGuide Car of the Year awards, there is a lot of love for the spacious Volkswagen Tiguan product.

Kylie Cullen, sales manager of Frizelle’s at Southport, said the Tiguan was packed with advanced technology and exuded a powerful presence.

“No matter what world you’re from, the Tiguan has enough tech to make any enthusiast jealous,” she said.

“Drivers can use Area View 1 for a 360-degree view of their surroundings, or turn their dash into a virtual cockpit with Active Info Display 2, while the active safety features help monitor danger you might not even know is there.

“Your mind will be set at ease with all the superior safety features as standard, and you can access your smartphone’s screen, selected apps, maps and music through App-Connect on your car’s touchscreen and Voice Control.

“There’s also Active Info Display, part of the optional Driver Assistance package, which boasts a 12.3-inch highdefinition digital screen.”

Robert Bradbury, general manager of Frizelle’s Robina described the Tiguan’s interior as premium and versatile.

“The Tiguan also wouldn’t be a Volkswagen if it didn’t convey a sense of refined comfort with every touch; the dashboard itself is the epitome of clean and functional design, while the front cabin has been designed to make the driver feel in charge and completely at one with the vehicle,” he said.

“A high-positioned gearshift and leather multifunction steering wheel with gearshift paddles in the Highline are just two examples of Volkswagen’s focus on driver enjoyment.

“And at 615L with the seats up, which expands to a cavernous 1655L with the seats folded, there’s no need to worry about that extra suitcase or bag of groceries.”

Tweed sales manager Renae Rice said the Tiguan had a turbocharged diesel TDI engine featuring the latest in common rail injection technology.

“This makes the Tiguan responsive and fun to drive, as well as being incredibly efficient,” she said.
