Apple hits hype bump

-

APPLE CEO Tim Cook says the hype about the future of the iPhone is hurting sales.

Apple yesterday released the results for the quarter ending April 1, with iPhone sales taking a surprising downturn, spurring a 1 per cent dip in the share price.

Apple sold 50.76 million iPhones in the quarter, down from 51.19 million in the previous year and short of the 51.5 million expected.

“We’re seeing a pause in purchases of iPhone,” Mr Cook said. Analysts believe this is because Apple fans are eagerly awaiting a 10th anniversary iPhone8, due this year.
