Tripathi fires as Smith falls

AUSSIE skipper Steve Smith failed for the second straight dig but Rahul Tripathi’s 93 from 52 balls led Rising Pune Supergiants to a four-wicket IPL win over Kolkata Knight Riders.

Chasing 8-155, Pune’s reply of 6-158 a one-man effort from Tripathi, with only two teammates managing double figures — England’s Ben Stokes (14) and Ajinkya Rahane (11).

Smith (9) was bowled by England’s Chris Woakes after earlier narrowly avoiding a nasty collision with Stokes during their team’s fielding effort.
