Organs on the agenda

THE death of a dear relative drove Health Minister Greg Hunt to push for extra money for organ donation.

About $4.1 million over the next four years will be announced in tomorrow’s Budget to secure an organ donation program that was to expire this financial year.

Organ donation is important to Mr Hunt because a cousin, who was like a brother to the Health Minister, died in a skiing accident. His organs saved five people.
