Sudden-death glory for Cory
GOLF GOLD Coast battler Cory Crawford had won a princely $875 on the PGA Tour of Australasia this year before today’s jackpot on the sixth suddendeath hole at Royal Port Moresby.
A delighted Crawford, 24, conquered nerves, heat, the occasion, an undulating par-three green and playoff rival Brett Rankin to claim the PNG Open. Crawford is based at Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast after making the move to Queensland from St Helens on Tasmania’s northeast coast in his school years.
