ASH Taylor is unflappable on the football field but he is excited ahead of the Gold Coast Titans’ clash with Melbourne in the Indigenous Round.
Showcasing the Titans’ special jersey yesterday, the 22-year-old said he was looking forward to representing his family on Saturday.
“It means a lot to myself but also every indigenous player out there,” said Taylor, a descendant of the Mandandanji people. “To represent your family, your mob and where you come from at the same time, it makes me proud.”
Taylor also has pride in the Queensland jumper but he modestly thinks he is down the pecking order if the Maroons need to find a replacement for Johnathan Thurston. I’M HAPPY TO WAIT, P42 INDIGENOUS INSPIRATION, P41
