ASSAULT, SURFERS PARADISE

Police want to talk to this man after an alleged assault on a tram in Surfers Paradise. Just after 6pm on April 22, a man was involved in an altercation with two women and another man, who was allegedly punched. One of the women was allegedly grabbed around the neck; the other pushed to the ground. Anyone who has any information about the man or the incident is urged to contact police or CrimeStoppers.

Detectives are investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store in Mermaid Waters on January 23. Before 10pm, a man entered the business on the Gold Coast Highway with a bladed weapon and demanded money from the 17-year-old male shop attendant. The attacker fled with cash and was last seen heading south along the Gold Coast Hway. The shop attendant was not injured. The attacker is described as caucasian, approximately 175cm tall, of slim build with long dark hair.

A wallet was allegedly stolen about 2.10pm on Friday, April 28, after being left beside a pokie machine at a tavern on Peachey Road, Ormeau. Police are asking for help to identify a man and woman who may know what happened to it. The owner of the wallet is an elderly woman who told police it contained most of her weekly money, discount/loyalty cards, Centrelink card, driver’s licence and bank cards.
