Contemptible politicians have sleepwalked us into this reality.

SAVE Our Broadwater is pushpolling. The poll is misleading. It is a set of questions drafted for a targeted outcome.
The poll does not mention the full project background and benefits that will be delivered including a $100m investment in transport infrastructure and road upgrades, 13,000 jobs for locals, a $710m boost to the economy every year once operational and over 20,000sq m of newly created open space for the community to enjoy.
These minority activist groups circulate misinformation in an attempt to mislead the Gold Coast community.
Over the four years that ASF has been involved in this project, we have found that as the community’s understanding of the project increases so does the level of community support.

THIS is the first Federal Government budget from a Coalition I can remember that has increased taxation and it is about time.
Australians have always demanded gold-plated services, especially with medical, health and social services but political parties’ policies always wanted to reduce taxation. That mix is toxic and clearly unworkable.
We need to pay for what we demand, and this seems to be happening, and I now just wonder if it will continue.

WAS there really any other outcome in the case of Allison BadenClay’s life insurance payout? ( GCB, 8/5). Why then did it take so long for the legal process to deliver the obvious verdict?

WHAT a shame this country lacks the enthusiasm and maturity we have just witnessed with the French election.
This country not only lacks maturity but it wallows in gross apathy that allows many of those we elect to set themselves up at the expense of this apathy.

THE political correctness activists are alive and well in Labor.
Now Labor, Shorten and co are trying for a home goal by criticising themselves that a Labor advertisement in the marginal seats has Shorten standing there with an overemphasis of white Australians and has no diversity.
To be perfectly frank, I don’t think Australians, white, black, yellow or whatever tan they have, could give a toss.
What we need is white, indigenous, disabled, homosexual, transgender, indeterminate or asexual, Muslim, illegal asylum seekers and criminals representation to show our true commitment to diversity.
What is more … do not forget the female quota.
